A couple from Worthing have named their baby after their local Toby Carvery following a visit during which pregnant Michelle Ware went in to labour.

A couple from Worthing have named their baby after their local Toby Carvery following a visit during which pregnant Michelle Ware went in to labour. Following the birth, the couple contacted staff at the Worthing Toby Carvery and asked them to come up with a middle name for newborn Annabel Ware.

Nick and Michelle Ware paid a visit to Toby Carvery on 25th April and were tucking in to their roast when Michelle went in to labour.
Nick said: “It was just as well that we had a big roast lunch as the labour took 22 hours and we didn't eat during that time! We decided that because we were in a Toby Carvery that if it was a boy, we would call him 'Toby'. However she was born a girl, so we called her Annabel and we asked the staff to help us think of a middle name that was somehow linked to Toby.”

Manager Louise Gilbert and her team at the Worthing Toby got together and suggested a few names including Tobia, Carvina and Daisy (a name that many Toby’s use for their ice cream machines!). However, the favourite was Georgia which is linked to ‘The George’; the original pub name for the Worthing Toby and was chosen by Annabel’s doting parents.
